The University of Queensland (UQ) St Lucia, the university’s largest campus, is situated in Brisbane, a dynamic capital city known for its excellent climate, safe environment and affordable quality of life.

Located in South-East Queensland, Brisbane is Australia’s New World City. It is the fastest growing capital and widely known as one of the country’s most liveable. The University of Queensland (UQ) is one of Australia’s premier learning and research institutions. Internationally-renowned for its highly-awarded teaching staff, world-acclaimed researchers and superior campus facilities and services, UQ was recently ranked 41^st in the world in a ranking compiled by the prestigious Times Higher Education Supplement. Students who require ‘bridging’ studies between secondary (high school / year 12) studies and undergraduate university study can take advantage of the world-class Foundation Year program offered by International Education Services (IES). Students who successfully achieve to the specific standards in the Foundation Year program are guaranteed an offer into undergraduate study at UQ.

Services offered

UQ students have access to a range of excellent support services from the moment they arrive in Brisbane. UQ’s Student Services offer a range of professional services to UQ students to further enhance student well-being, learning outcomes, career and life goals.

UQ’s Student Services are committed to helping students, offering an integrated professional service in the areas like careers and employment, learning assistance, personal counselling, disability support, financial services, and international student support.

UQ’s Accommodation Services assist international students find suitable accommodation, including temporary accommodation, and also offer an airport pick up service.

The International Student Advisers are Social Workers who are available to help students with a wide range of issues affecting their studies.
Learning Advisers also provide a comprehensive calendar of learning workshop with daily sessions held throughout the semester. They also provide  individual consultations and online resources.
Individual personal counselling sessions and group programs are provided by qualified staff members who are available to help students to address issues that may be interfering with their capacity to cope with academic studies. 

Each semester, Student Services run a variety of seminars and workshops on topics such as study skills, academic writing, acculturation, career and program planning, resumé writing and job search skills.
